Eighty per cent of railway maintenance work in Vietnam is currently done by hand. The State budget for maintenance remains limited, meeting less than 40 per cent of requirements. However, with support from South Korea, Vietnam’s railway sector expects to establish an efficient maintenance process through the application of advanced technologies with markedly improved human resources.
