Export turnover of agriculture, forestry and fisheries products in January stood at $5.14 billion, an impressive 79.2 per cent increase compared to January 2023, according to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO). The industry posted a trade surplus of $1.43 billion, or 4.6-fold higher year-on-year. Export value to all markets increased. In the domestic market, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said prices of most products rose compared to December 2023 due to high demand as the Lunar New Year, or Tet, holiday approaches, but are relatively stable.
