According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), total export turnover for agriculture, forestry and fisheries products reached more than $19 billion in the first four months of 2024, an increase of 24 per cent year-on-year. Notably, wood and wooden products are especially “booming”, with export turnover rising 23-54 per cent on certain products. Amid difficult conditions caused by conflict and tensions in the Red Sea, the supply chain of goods has been further interrupted, but turnover in wood and wooden products still rose, which is a positive sign for Vietnam. After such positive results, the industry has set a target of export turnover for wood and wooden products reaching $17.5 billion for the year as a whole.
