Overcoming challenges to welcome quality FDI capital flows
Three factors driving global FDI capital flows are creating new prospects for many developing countries with greater openness, like Vietnam, in attracting high quality projects. The orientation of attracting FDI to lead green growth and develop future technology industries is being promoted, but there remain many barriers that make it difficult for Vietnam to receive quality FDI capital. It needs to proactively attract and selectively cooperate with foreign investment, taking quality, efficiency, technology, and environmental protection as the main evaluation criteria. The change in orientation corresponds with Vietnam’s transition towards green growth and digital economic development, especially in prioritizing semiconductor technology.
