Efforts to remove EC’s “yellow card” on illegal fishing
The European Commission (EC) has made nine recommendations that Vietnam needs to implement in order to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), ministries, branches, and localities have tried very hard to implement tasks and solutions to fight IUU fishing, but now, after nearly six years and three EC inspections, the “yellow card” has still not been removed. According to MARD, an EC inspection team will visit Vietnam for the fourth time in October.
