Rice exports to see more growth opportunities in 2024
It has been forecast that rice exports will continue to be favorable in 2024 because the world is experiencing a 5-million-ton shortage and India is expected to maintain its rice export restrictions into the new year. Meanwhile, some countries that traditionally import Vietnamese rice, such as Indonesia and the Philippines, will need to boost their imports. According to a scenario calculated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, each year Vietnam has about 13-14 million tons of rice left over. Its agricultural industry is ready to cooperate with other countries to sign MoUs on long-term rice supply.
