Taking effect from January 1, 2025, the Law on Housing (amended) and the Law on Real Estate Business (amended) were recently passed by the 6th session of the 15th National Assembly, creating confidence among entities involved in Vietnam’s real estate market. Many analysts believe the new regulations in the Law on Housing (amended) are intended to remove difficulties facing both buyers and investors developing social housing projects, and are expected to create appeal and attract more businesses to take part in developing the country’s social housing segment, therefore increasing access to this type of housing by low-income earners. The Law on Real Estate Business (amended), meanwhile, is in need of supplementation and clarity in certain regulations.
