                                                               COVER STORY

Vietnam has recognized the importance of curbing
emissions and pollution to not only protect the natural
environment but also ensure sustainable economic
development. Its intentions were made clear at the COP26
meeting in 2021, when it committed to reaching net-zero
emissions by 2050. The scourge of climate change,
meanwhile, continues largely unabated, and with Vietnam
being among the countries to especially suffer from
pollution and climate issues, it’s perhaps not surprising
that environmental, social, governance (ESG) matters
have appeared on agendas discussing its economic
future. The government wholeheartedly encourages ESG-
focused investment as it seeks to guarantee sustainable
and resilient growth in the years ahead.
