This impressive growth has been attributed
to various proactive measures being introduced,
in particular more favorable visa policies and
tourism stimulus programs that have encouraged
more international visitors to choose Vietnam
as their holiday destination.
Asia leads the way
Asia was the largest source of tourists to
Vietnam in the first four months, registering a
year-on-year increase of 77.2 per cent. Markets
in Northeast Asia to post the highest increases
included China, South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan
(China), with many in Southeast Asia also seeing
significant growth, including Indonesia, the
Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Singapore.
Visitors from India and Australia, meanwhile,
continued to rise significantly, by 41.1 per cent
and 37.8 per cent, respectively.
South Korea remained the largest tourism
source market for Vietnam in the period, with
1.6 million tourists, or 25.8 per cent of the total,
followed by China with 1.25 million, Taiwan
(China) with 418,000, the US with 301,000, and
Japan with 235,000.
Favorable visa policies that took effect from
August 15, 2023 have played a major role in the
significant growth in the number of tourists
from Europe, which rose 63.8 per cent year-on-
year in the period. Key markets include the UK,

Meanwhile, 10.5 million domestic tourists
journeyed around Vietnam in April, bringing

Revenue skyrocketing
Total revenue from accommodation and
food services in the first four months was esti-
